Always wanted to start recycling but don’t know how? 

Here’s the solution: You can now collect a free recycling box from vending machines located islandwide to set up your own recycling corner at home. Known as Bloobox, the foldable, washable and reusable box is part of the national Recycling Right campaign, which aims to make recycling more convenient for residents. 

Mr Foo Qihui, 40, a resident of Ang Mo Kio-Hougang, said: "It's perfect for small homes like mine."

“I believe that small actions like this could make a big impact on preserving the planet for future generations.”

With a removable divider that comes with each Bloobox, he found it easy to collect and separate small e-waste items from other recyclables such as paper, plastic, metal and glass. He can then easily bring the recyclables to the nearby blue recycling bin or e-waste bin when the box is full.

The Bloobox can hold up to 5kg of recyclables. Mr Foo said: “I’ve made several runs to the recycling bin and it’s sturdy.” 

As a secondary-school teacher, his passion about the environment doesn’t stop here. He plans to encourage his students and colleagues to recycle more by organising a recycling drive at his school.

He said: “I hope I can do my part and make a positive difference in our community.”
